Covering 21,000 hectares, Dinokeng Game Reserve has restored biodiversity and restoration to degraded land that was originally used for beef farming. Because Dinokeng is surrounded by human settlements, intensive wildlife management is necessary. It also has an active anti-poaching unit using K9 dogs, aerial surveillance and drones, and intelligence networks. With the introduction of black rhinos in 2018, the primary focus is for rhino protection. The reserve also pioneers cooperative conservation and is viewed as a model for future conservation areas. Dinokeng reached out to Baby Rhino Rescue in the Spring of 2024 with a request for additional anti-poaching equipment. We began an incredible partnership that has helped to keep their rhinos safe.
